Things you don't see every day

Two weeks ago 2 classmates and I went to Smicksburg,a rural community about 20 miles from Indiana, to check out some crafts. And somehow we talked ourselves into taking knitting clss (the mob mentality took over and we were buying yarn). One of the oldest and most conservative orders of Amish are in this area as well.

Class started today. As we drove back we got behind a buggy with a couple and 2 kids. We couldn't safely pass because of the turns so my friend just kind of dawdled along. The horse clopping ahead of us was very relaxing. When we got to a straight place in the road, the buggy moved over and we went past.

Then we are driving along and my friend says is that cow not in a pasture. And as we get closer we drive past this bull as big the SUV we were in. And there is a cow across the street with her head stuck through the fence. I suspect I know what he was looking for.

Knitting was very relaxing. I remembered more than I thought after 25 years. Tonight I MUST read 2 articles and summarize for a handout and prepare another handout because our group presents on Monday and we are meeting tomorrow after class. I am supposed to have 150 pages of reading done for class, but the professor lectures a lot, not about the reading so I don't have to be prepared to say much.

I also have to finish about another 500pages of reading by Monday. And I have about 12 pages of stuff to write somewhere along the way by Tuesday.

Oh, I bet there was lots of BEAUTIFUL yarn...

I've been spoiled - I won't knit with nasty cheap acrylic yarn any more.
